OnePlus 5 is going to launch pretty soon. And, we don’t think so that it needs an introduction anymore. Still, we are providing you every single detail about this phone to curb your curiosity. OnePlus 5 is a development of a big Chinese phone manufacturer- Oppo. It has been garnering so much hype and coverage for its killer smartphones since it first came into the market in 2014.
Why so much hype about OnePlus Phone?
This is because the company is producing some of the best value smartphones in recent times that are totally worth. They are giving a minimal amount of importance to both price and Android augmentation. Last year too it’s two phones OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T were among the best-selling smartphones in their range. By seeing at the last year statistics, we can definitely say that OnePlus 5 is going to blow the market away. If you have a decent budget that doesn’t allow you to purchase phones like I phone, Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S. We will say go for OnePlus without even thinking.
We are just one week away from the introduction of maybe the Years’ greatest smartphone. And We just can’t wait for its launch. OnePlus 5 excitement is building day by day. This is majorly due to 2 reasons. 1st 2017 has been really a weird year for the smartphones. So many tiny issues are cropping up and people are really conscious of buying a new smartphone. But we have a feeling that OnePlus 5 will be able to overcome all these problems and going to deliver an awesome smartphone.
We are jotting down the few problems that we have faced in the smartphones this year. That we just hope won’t be there in the new upcoming phone of OnePlus. We hope this will guide you to buy or not to buy OnePlus 5.
OnePlus 5: Reviews and Points of Improvement
Smart Finger Print Reader
Since the latter half of the smartphone series 2015, the fingerprint scanner or reader has undergone through so many variations and changes. It has been inevitably ruined by companies just by overdoing it. Yes, Over Thinking just ruin the whole thing.
So the one phone that tops our list in worst offenders will be no doubt Samsung. Galaxy S8 has an offset and rear-mounted fingerprint reader. We have reviewed the S8+ where the fingerprint is totally unusable. Mainly due to its position. Even after the week, we ended up hitting the camera lens instead of the actual scanner. Always have to wait for a couple of ticks to finally get some success. That’s just irritating we tell you.
Next in the series is LG’s G6. It is also difficult to use for an analogous reason. It has a fingerprint reader on the back which is quite tiny in size and very difficult to reach at the same time. It slows down the action that we perform.
Then Sony also tried to beat the new smartphones but its fingerprint reader lies on the side of the phone which is also not very convenient.
We will say that OnePlus 3 is the fastest unlocking smartphone we have seen so far. And, that is what we can claim. Its fingerprint scanner lies on the front and is so comfortable. The moment we touch the home button, the screen is up. Though, there are some minor issues with the multiple fingerprint readers. That we can expect to mend in the upcoming phone OnePlus 5.
Here again, we will condemn Samsung, apart from its production of TouchWiz being really really good. New Bixby virtual assistant of Samsung is irritating all the way through the Galaxy S8 line. You have got no other choice but to specially create a Samsung login account and log in so that you can access the basic camera. Without constantly being reminded off to activate Bixby. We think Samsung is falling in its sales just because of these irritating problems.
Whereas when all these other smartphones are giving us serious issues, OnePlus one has always known to play straight. The OnePlus loom towards leaner, cleaner and fast phones has been an appealing one. It is really trying to produce devices that just feel quicker by an asset of having nothing slowing them down. What we feel is that OnePlus is exploiting its full traits and strengths to the audience and in return getting a great response.
OnePlus marketing is very well resonating with its users. With minimalism inputs, it is setting a trend in the market. It is manufacturing the fastest smartphone of this generation, keeping the budget and price in check.
Best Phone in its Price Segment
This is the point where we are starting to get worried about. OnePlus 5 might give in the temptation just like every other mobile brand has. The company smartphones have always been an affordable price. But, when we look at the leaked images of OnePlus 5 with its I phone like look and dual camera. We doubt the price range. We suspect that OnePlus 5 is ready to enter the premium segment of the price range. If it will then it will be a huge mistake.
We can see this by taking a case study of Huawei P10. We are not sure how it is doing in terms of sales but it has been widely pulled down by the critics. Huawei’s P10 strengths were very similar from those of OnePlus: that includes solid design, good inbuilt, excellent fingerprint scanner, smooth and reactive performance along with the killer price.
We still think the P9 an excellent option for anybody not too fussed about keeping up with the latest specifications. But then the P10 hiked up its price, added design embellishments that weren’t even necessary. We doubt OnePlus 5 might make that very last mistake.
